Song List

Contents

The song list is the heart of your library. This page covers the different views, sorting and bulk actions. To get songs into the list see Song Import.

Views

The library sidebar offers several ways to look at your songs. Which of them are visible is up to you (Customize Sidebar):

  • All songs – every song, with search and filter.
  • Tags – songs grouped by Song Tags.
  • Artists – songs grouped by Song Artists.
  • Keys – songs grouped by their original key.
  • Recents – songs you opened lately.
  • Recently deleted – shown once you have deleted songs (see Recently Deleted).

Adding songs

The + button in the navigation bar opens the add-song menu: Search online, New Song, Paste from the clipboard or Import File. See Song Import.

Sorting and grouping

Sort songs by Title, Last modified, Artist or Key, ascending or descending. When sorted by title the list can be grouped by the first letter, with a letter index on the side (Group by Letter, on by default on iOS 26 and later).

View options

  • Song Item – choose what is shown under the song title: the artist, the key and / or the tempo.
  • Hidden Tags – songs with a hidden tag (or without any tag) are left out of the main list; a menu entry shows how many songs are hidden and lets you display them.

Selecting several songs

Tap Select to choose songs (Select all / Deselect all are available) and then:

  • Add to setlist – to an existing setlist or a new one (see Setlists).
  • Tags – add or remove tags on all selected songs.
  • Duplicate the selected songs.
  • Batch update – set the same value on many songs at once. Choose Select fields and pick among Title, Artist, Key, Tempo, Duration, Time signature, Subtitle, Composer, Lyricist, Notes, Footer, Copyright, CCLI song number and CCLI license.
  • Delete – moves the songs to Recently deleted.
  • Send Copy / Print – see Export and Print.

If you import a song with the same name as an existing one, JustChords asks whether to Skip it or Add again.
